Compass Roses combined the creative forces of dancers from several acclaimed and long-standing North American sides. Crossing borders and oceans, the group performed North American traditions, including songs, Ottawa Valley and Prince Edward Island step-dancing, and Wheaton-under-Glenmont, a tradition in the Cotswold style created for Rock Creek Morris Women.
The ensemble was created in for the 2020 Sidmouth Folk Festival, as a collaboration between Toronto Women's Sword and Rock Creek Morris Women. The COVID-19 pandemic brought a sudden, and multi-year, pause. The project was restarted in 2022, this time by as an invitational, and traveled to England to perform at the 2023 Sidmouth Folk Festival.
